Menorca househelp: Hindi ako kinidnap

MANILA - The househelp of former Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) minister Lowell Menorca II has belied allegations that she was being detained against her will by Menorca and his wife.

In several videos uploaded on YouTube Monday evening by account name "incdefenders.org," Abegail Yanson denied earlier accusations that she was abducted and detained against her will by Menorca.

"Ako po mismo ang sumama kay Ka Jinky, sa mag-asawa. Hindi po nila ako pinilit," Abegail said.

Menorca and wife Jinky was accused of illegally detaining Abegail by the latter's family. Candido and Roselie Yanson, and Robeth Yanson, the parents and sibling of Abegail Yanson, filed complaint against the Menorca couple.

In the complaint filed by their lawyer, the Yansons said they last saw Abegail in July this year. They said they only recently found out that the Menorcas brought Abegail from Bulan, Sorsogon to Manila without informing them.

The Yansons said they tried to approach Abegail during a recess at the hearing in the Court of Appeals Tuesday but were prevented from approaching her.

In the video uploaded online, Abegail begged her parents to tell the truth about her situation.

"Alam n'yo na hindi magagawa sa aking ng mag-asawa na kidnapin ako, i-detain ako, na pilitin na isama," Abegail said.

"Masakit sa akin, napakasakit na makita ko po na iyan yung sinasabi n'yo sa TV. Na alam n'yo naman sa puso n'yo na hindi totoo yun... Huwag sana ho kayo magpagamit. Sana sabihin n'yo 'yung totoo," she added.

Abegail pleaded with the INC leadership to not use her parents in their propaganda against the Menorca couple.

"Nananawagan po ako sa INC, sa Sanggunian, nakikiusap ako. Palayain n'yo po ang magulang at kapatid ko. Hayaan n'yo po sila magsalita ng katotohanan," Abegail said.
